Alliance Between Chefs and Small-Scale Producers

Over 300 chefs committed to defending biodiversity around the world


The Alliance between chefs and Slow Food Presidia was launched in Italy in 2009, and currently unites over 300 chefs from restaurants, osterias and bistros who are committed to supporting the Slow Food Presidia and local small-scale producers, the guardians of biodiversity, by using their products every day.

The project has inspired interest in other countries, and in 2012, the meeting of Italian chefs in Alberese, Tuscany was an opportunity for reflection and growth. Several Dutch chefs attended the meeting, and after returning home, they decided to start the project in their country too, focusing attention on the need to protect biodiversity and support sustainable local agriculture.

And thus, the project spread to the Netherlands followed by Morocco, and will soon be arriving in other countries around the world.
