Melon is among the oldest and most important product of Trapani agriculture.
The Purceddu Alcamo Winter Melon is oval in shape with a rough green skin, it has white, juicy flesh and becomes better and sweeter with time, which accounts for its designation as a 'winter' melon. An excellent table fruit, it is also used for ice cream and traditional Sicilian granita.
