Berudge Eau-de-vie
Switzerland
|
Distillate based on local plum varities, such as the Berudge, Vully-Pflümli, and Wistelacherli. The types of plums used range in color from red to reddish-blue. Trees grow medium-high. The distillate is strongly fruit-scented with light flavors of stone and clay.
The traditional area of production is the Mont Vully region and the Trois Lacs region. The Berudge variety of plum probably developed from a wild variety of unknown origin, which was used for making Kirsch.
