In fields or workshops, cooking or producing, teaching or speaking, men and women struggle day by day to defend biodiversity in the agroindustrial field.
All of us owe them something. To express its gratitude to these people, Slow Food has set up an award which will be presented in a different city every year. The winners will receive public recognition and a cash prize and will see their activities publicised and championed in all the movementês editorial and promotional initiatives.
The Jury, made up of authoritative journalists, experts and opinion leaders (about 500 in 2000) from all over the world chooses the candidates whose productive, commercial, promotional and educational activities most contribute to the protection of biodiversity.
