Who we are
The Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity is a non-profit organization which coordinates numerous projects (Presidia, Earth Markets, vegetable gardens and more) in support of Terra Madre communities, providing them with technical and financial assistance.
The Foundation works in over 50 countries and involves over 10,000 small-scale food producers, promoting environmentally and culturally sustainable agriculture.
Its most important commitment is to the countries of the Global South, where defending biodiversity means not just improving quality of life but guaranteeing the very survival of local communities.
The Foundation operates thanks to the backing of the Slow Food association as well as donations from institutions, private companies, other foundations and anyone who wants to support projects that protect biodiversity.
The Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity guarantees a totally transparent use of donations and its supporters can benefit from tax deductions as provided for by the law. Every year the foundation publishes a Social Report, which contains detailed information on how funds were used and the results obtained.
